Message

God delights in His people praising Him. In fact, He loves the praises of His children so much that He inhabits it (). In , He said that anyone who praises Him is glorifying Him, and He conversations aright. This further reveals how much God wants His children to praise Him.

When God’s children praise Him, He fights their battles for them. This is what happened in , when three great kings conspired against King Jehoshaphat. The people of Judah praised God, and He defended them. God made the three kings and their armies fight and kill each other without the children of Judah lifting a sword. To top it all, Jehoshaphat and his people spent three days gathering the spoils of a war they never fought in.

Another good example of God fighting on behalf of His children who praise Him is found in :

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

I pray that God will fight for you, too, as you praise Him today, in Jesus’ name.

I remember the story of a Christian brother who shared the secret of his bumper harvests every year. According to him, after planting, he goes around his farm and sings praises to God. When it is time for him to harvest his crops, God blesses him even beyond his expectations. Beloved, I urge you to cultivate this practice. When you buy new products to sell, walk around the products or place them in front of you and begin to praise God. In your office, especially at your own desk, take time to praise God regularly. Do this often, and God will cause your business or career to experience supernatural increase.

God is, however, not interested in the praise and worship of sinners (). It doesn't matter how well a person can sing and dance; acceptable praise can only flow from a heart that is sanctified (). If you haven’t surrendered your life to Jesus, please do so right away, and you can rest assured that when you praise Him, He will bless you and fight your battles for you.

Key Point:

Praise from a sanctified heart draws divine protection and blessings.

Hymn

Title: PRAISE MY SOUL THE KING OF HEAVEN

1. Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
to his feet your tribute bring.
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
evermore his praises sing.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King!

2. Praise him for his grace and favour
to his people in distress.
Praise him, still the same as ever,
slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Glorious in his faithfulness!

3. Fatherlike he tends and spares us;
well our feeble frame he knows.
In his hand he gently bears us,
rescues us from all our foes.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Widely yet his mercy flows!

4. Angels, help us to adore him;
you behold him face to face.
Sun and moon, bow down before him,
dwellers all in time and space.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace!
