Message
Yesterday, I mentioned that whenever the Holy Spirit moves, He brings about change. One of the changes He brings into the lives of those who receive Him is the utterance to speak in other tongues. This is what happened in today’s Bible reading: the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, and they began to speak in other tongues.
Praying in other tongues or praying in the Spirit is when your spirit is communicating mysteries directly to God (). When Christians pray in the Spirit, they go beyond the limitations of the flesh and allow the Holy Spirit to inspire their prayers (). As they spend time praying in the Spirit, they begin to stir up divine energy. The more they pray, the stronger the wind of the Holy Spirit that builds inside their spirits.
Today’s memory verse tells us that when we pray in the Holy Spirit, we are building ourselves on our most holy faith. When you pray in the Spirit, you activate God’s power within you, and you will walk in boldness and victory. In , Peter denied Jesus on three separate occasions out of fear. However, when he received the power of the Holy Spirit, he received the boldness to declare the gospel of Jesus Christ publicly. The Bible tells us that after he preached to the people of Judea, about 3,000 souls repented and were baptised ().
Beloved, if you have received the Holy Spirit’s baptism, how often do you build yourself up in your most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost? You must ensure that you spend quality time praying in tongues daily. When you do this consistently, you will realise with time that your spirit will become more and more sensitive to the moves of the Holy Spirit. When you see the power of the Holy Spirit manifesting publicly in the ministry of a child of God, it is because he or she has invested in building an intimate and constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit in private. Every command that moves mountains in the public comes from quality time spent with the Holy Spirit in secret.
If you haven’t received the Holy Spirit and you desire His manifestation in your life, please surrender your life to Jesus and visit any RCCG parish near you so a minister of God can pray with you for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It would be the best decision you’ll ever make in life.
