Jesus gave Himself for us; hence, we should be willing to give our resources to Him. If you are a child of God, you must make up your mind to serve God with everything He has given to you. If He is really the source of everything you own, then you should not hold anything back from Him. Apostle Paul is a good example of someone who understood that his life and all he had were no longer his, but Christ’s. He expressed this clearly in :
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
As a child of God, the life you live is no longer yours. Jesus ransomed you with His blood, so nothing should be too much for you to release to Him. In today’s Bible reading, a grievous famine struck the land, and God sent Elijah to a widow in Zarephath to sustain him during the famine. One would have thought that the widow Elijah was going to meet would be a rich woman, but the opposite was the case. She was so poor that all she had was just a meal for herself and her son, yet God asked her to let it go. Despite her limited resources, when Elijah asked her to make him a meal, she was willing to do so. Her willingness and readiness to surrender all made God multiply what she had. God doesn’t just use people without rewarding them. When you give Him your resources, He will bless you beyond your wildest imagination. There is nothing you give to the Lord that will remain the way it is; it will be multiplied, and others will be blessed through you. My wife and I are a living testimony of this truth.
Beloved, when God asks for your resources, count it a privilege because He owns everything (). says that the silver and gold are His. also says that the whole world belongs to Him. If the Almighty God, who owns the world and its fullness, asks you to use your resources for His work, He is setting you up for great blessings. He owes no man, and those who willingly use their resources for Him become partakers of His endless resources.
