Message

There was a bank manager in one of the towns in Ogun State who suddenly became mentally unstable. When that happened, the people around him called the police, who handcuffed him and chained his legs. They were about to take him to a federal neuropsychiatric hospital when he said, “Please, take me to the Redemption Camp. I know that if my feet touch that ground, I will be well.” Thankfully, they honoured his request. Back then, the Redemption Camp had not become the city it is today, so I was alone when they arrived. If I remember correctly, about six policemen were holding him, as he had gone wild. They told me what he had said, and I said to them, “If that is what he said, loose him, and let him come down from the car.” The policemen then replied, “Ah! We know what we went through before we could capture him.” I then said, “But you heard what he said. Thank God the Bible says it shall be unto you according to your faith.” They said, “Sir, if we let him loose from these chains and handcuffs, you will be responsible for whatever happens.” I answered them, “Loose him.” They removed the handcuffs and chains, and as he stepped on the ground, his sanity was restored.

Beloved, if a madman’s words could be that effective, imagine how powerful your words can be in your own life. The word of God is, however, more powerful than your own words over your life. His word heals and delivers, as stated in today’s memory verse. If something goes wrong with what the Lord has created, He can restore it with His word. shows us how things went wrong as a result of people's transgressions. Then, they cried out to the Lord, and He sent His word, which healed them and delivered them from all their destructions. Indeed, the word of God brings healing and deliverance.

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus, the Word of God (), commanded the legion of demons residing inside the madman of Gadara to depart from him, and they left him immediately. The Word restored the man’s sanity, and the people who knew him in his demon-possessed state were surprised to see him sitting at Jesus’ feet in the right state of mind. I decree that anything that might have been damaged in your life will be healed and restored by the Word today, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point

Father, please send Your word to heal and restore everything that might have been damaged in my life, in Jesus’ name.

Hymn

Title: ‘TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS

1. ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

2. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

3. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

4. I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, saviour, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
