Yesterday, I mentioned that God created all things by His Word. Since God created all things, it means that He can always recreate anything the devil might have stolen from your life. For example, if you need God to replace parts of your body that might be damaged, you can go ahead to ask Him because He has them in abundance.
Apart from creating, the Word of God also travels. says that the word of God came to Elijah. also says that He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. This means that the word travelled, arrived at a destination, and began to perform God’s will there. I pray that the word of God will come to you today, even as you are reading this devotional, and it will perform God’s will in your life, in Jesus’ name.
The word of the Lord is no respecter of persons or positions. It can bypass a king and arrive at the house of an unknown person. In , the Bible says that the word of God came to Jeremiah, even though Josiah was the king of Judah at that time. Later in that chapter, the Lord told Jeremiah that He had put His word in his mouth and set him over nations and kingdoms to do exploits for Him ().
The Word of God can also travel as far as the wilderness to reveal itself to someone the world may consider a ‘nobody’. In , we see a list of some of the influential people during the time of John the Baptist. However, the Bible says that the word of the Lord went straight to an unknown prophet in the wilderness – John, the son of Zacharias. When the Word of God travelled to John, incredible things began to happen in his life and ministry. Although he was in the wilderness, today’s Bible reading tells us that all of Jerusalem, Judea, and the regions around Jordan went out to him. Despite his location, people came from far and near to see him because the word of the Lord went to him, took him out of obscurity, and positioned him for influence and visibility.
Beloved, I pray that the word of God will travel to you and your household and bring you into His light, in Jesus’ name.
